Spokane is about 2 hours from my house. About 1/4 of the way there and I said to my mom, "jeez, this road is horrible!" and right after that we had a tire blow out! Now, I have never had a flat tire in my life, let alone a complete blow out... I mean this thing was completely shredded!! So neither one of us knows how to change a tire, we are out in the middle of BFE (Bum F*$k Egypt) and where the heck is the spare tire anyway? Where is the lug wrench? Where is the jack?
I called my husband (luckily my mom has a cell phone... I know I'm living in the dark ages!) And do you know what he said to me?! You'll NEVER be able to change that tire... you aren't strong enough! Oh yeah? Well, we'll show him!! So, we got out our trusty vehicle manual and looked at the directions! (Gee, novel concept huh?!) And after a lot of reading, getting on our hands and knees looking under the vehicle, digging for the lug wrench and jack, cranking the spare tire down from it's hiding spot underneath the bed of the truck, standing... no jumping up and down on the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts, and an hour and 20 minutes later... we did it!!! Yay!!! We are women, hear us roar!!
Then we broke out the Purell!!! LOL! About that time my husband showed up... I think he was shocked that we were done and I felt really good that we made him eat his words...
So we traded vehicles with my husband and we're back on the road again!!
This is the first time we've gone to this show and we definitely weren't dissapointed! It was HUGE and full of antiques, vintage goodies, and handmade items! There were so many people milling around that it was kind of hard to get many good pictures, but here are a few I managed to get. I think you should be able to click on them to make them bigger.
This is the entrance to the fairgrounds.

I love that blue cubby hole cabinet thing!
There were a few... ummm... shall we say, "out there" outfits! These petticoat things were everywhere!
I like the color of this wheel barrow too... I seem to be on a robin's egg blue kick lately! I think I'm even going to paint my basement that color!
This piano was completely decoupaged with vintage sheet music! Cool! LOTS of stuff was decopaged with sheet music!

Such a colorful, happy booth!
This deer was outrageous! It is wearing a crown, glittery numbers hanging in his antlers, dangly earrings, and has red kissy lips!!! There were a couple of women planning an attack on their husband's deer!
LOTS of vintage sewing stuff, trims, etc.
Nests, nests, nests!!!
Aren't the colorful parasols pretty?
I like that wreath!
Here is a closeup!
I only bought a few things, mostly for myself! I'll share pictures of my finds tomorrow! Oh... and yes, I think I'll get myself a cell phone after this adventure! I've been thinking I need one for awhile now and I told my mom, I think I would have just sat down and cried if I had been alone without a cell phone!
